Blue Tit Home Delivery

A fast enough shutter speed (1/2000 sec) allows you to freeze motion and in this case, see the wonderful shape of the wings and body shape of a blue tit just prior to entering a hole just over an inch in dimeter at very fast speeds.  The blue tits are busily feeding their chicks with small caterpillars on an almost incessant basis so the opportunity was not to be missed.  These in-flight shots were taken with a long lens well away from the nest box using a wireless remote to release the shutter.

Posing Siskin

This charming little siskin happily posed for me whilst at Loch Morlich, Aviemore.  This is indeed a rarity for me as when attempting wildlife photography the subject is normally well gone before I release the shutter, a very frustrating hobby indeed.  In this case, perhaps it was frozen to the spot.
