Grey Herons in Flight

These shots of grey herons in flight were taken at Haddenham near Aylesbury.  With there vast wings outstretched and long thin neck extended they kind of remind me of something prehistoric.

Grey Heron

Here are a few shots of a grey heron taken at Broughton on the outskirts of Aylesbury.  He was stealthily creeping around and feeding on something quite large however, at the key moment my camera was on the wrong setting resulting in a blurred images, frustrating indeed!  Nevertheless, still quite nice close ups.

Grey Heron

I was reviewing some of my previous shots and came across this one of a grey heron.  I decided to convert it to black and white and have to say was very pleased with the result.

Grey Heron

The following shots of a grey heron were taken at National Trust Stackpole, Pembrokeshire, Wales.   The portrait shot  looks bizarrely like the heron has detached his head in order to preen.
