I don’t think Red Kites are renowned fishers so when this individual decided to dive I was hoping for a result however, “he picked up more than he could chew.” Unlike the Osprey which is more powerful and an expert fisher, Red Kites are predominantly scavengers. Maybe with more practice they may develop their fishing skills. In this instance the prey was probably just too big and the most this Red Kite got was a few small scraps on the talon.
