The Metropolitan Life Tower

Here are a few shots of the Metropolitan Life Tower located on Madison Avenue in New York.  Constructed in 1909 the tower was the tallest building in the world until 1913 when it was surpassed by the Woolworth building.

Flatiron Building – New York

Here are a few shots of the Flatiron building which, alongside the Chrysler building, is one of my two favourite buildings In New York city.  Built in 1902 and 22 storeys high, the Flatiron was once the tallest skyscraper in New York.  Although dwarfed by modern skyscrapers, the Flatiron is architecturally stunning.

230 Fifth Rooftop Bar – New York City

Here are a few shots of 230 Fifth which is New York’s largest outdoor rooftop garden and fully enclosed penthouse lounge.  As you can see the views are simply spectacular particularly of the Empire State building.  The evening that we visited was by far the coldest however, even though it was catered for with numerous heaters and red towelling robes which helped to keep the heat in.   Big thanks to Loz and Hannah for the suggesting to meet up at such a fantastic location.  See more at: http://www.230-fifth.com/

The Chrysler Building – New York

Here are a few shots of the 77-storey Chrysler building which is currently New York’s 9th tallest skyscraper and without doubt one of its most impressive.   The building  is a classic example of Art Deco style architecture – the outside of the 61st floor is graced with eagles and the 31st floor adorned with replicas of 1929 Chrysler radiator caps.
