Ascott House, Buckinghamshire

Ascott House is a National Trust property located in Buckinghamshire.  Formerly a farmhouse, cottage then hunting lodge, it was transformed into an Edwardian country house by Leopold de Rothschild in 1881.   Unusually, the parts of the house that you are able to view are lived in as well as being open to the public.  The extensive gardens are undoubtedly one of the property’s best features, with a combination of the  formal and informal, including the stunning Venus and Cupid fountains.  Take my advice – keep an eye out for the next batch of sunshine (we can but hope, my friends) and plan a visit. The Sunken Garden, Ascott HouseThe Sunken Garden, Ascott House Ascott House gardens Ascott House gardens Ascott House gardens Ascott House gardens Ascott House gardens Ascott House gardens The Sunken Garden, Ascott House The Sunken Garden, Ascott House The Sunken Garden, Ascott House Ascott House Ascott House Ascott House Ascott House gardens Ascott House gardens Ascott House Venus fountainn© [John Mallaney] and [jdmallaney In The Frame], [2012].
