Here are further shots of a juvenile osprey taken at Western Turville reservoir in Buckinghamshire.  On this occasion the osprey failed to catch a meal.

Osprey Fishing

The last thing you expect when you are out and about in Aylesbury and its environs is to come across an osprey.  Fortunately, this juvenile osprey turned up at Western Turville reservoir and has been ever present for nearly a month.  As the weather was favourable last Sunday it was a no brainer to visit and see if I could improve on my previous attempts.  On this occasion the osprey obliged with four fly pasts and each time attempting to fish.  The following shots show the osprey from impacting the water to successfully flying off with two fish in his talons.
