Waxwings

A few shots of one of natures most stunning birds, the waxwing, taken at Northchurch, Berkhamsted.  Waxwings migrate from Scandinavia in winter to take advantage of the numerous food opportunities, it would appear that the migration this year has not been as big as in recent years however, it was great to see the four that made it all the way to Northchurch.

Waxwing

I have been waiting patiently to photograph the waxwing which have been migrating from Scandinavia in their thousands this winter.  I eventually had the opportunity last Sunday albeit on a very wet and dismal day.  This waxwing posed quite happily for me despite being at relatively close quarters in Bletchley, Milton Keynes.
