Scottish Red Deer

Here are a few shots of the ever so impressive and athletic red deer taken at Blair Atholl estate in Perthshire, Scotland.  I have a number of favourites however, the array of antlers peering over the top is my top pick.

Up close and personal

Here are a few shots of a Meadow-Brown butterfly which conveniently landed on a pear discarded by my Grandson.

St James’s Park – London

Although bang in the centre of urban London, St James’s park certainly has a surprisingly large variety of wildlife. The shots below are only a small sample of what’s on offer.

Fighting Coots

Here are a few shots of coots which were taken recently at St James’s park in London.  To me, they appeared to be having a war dance.

Here are a few shots of what I believe is a white greylag goose both in flight and on the ground.

European Lynx

Here are a few shots of a European lynx taken recently at Whipsnade Zoo.   I would have liked to have spent more time at their enclosure, however my Grandson was tugging at my leg and baying for my attention, so on this ocassion the camera lost out.

Mute Swan

Gallery

This gallery contains 4 photos.

Here are a few images of the common but nonetheless impressive mute swan taken at Western Turville reservoir in Buckinghamshire.  I am quite pleased with the shots, most of which were successful as the swans are quite sociable. © [John Mallaney] and [john mallaney In The … Continue reading
