Tawny Owl

Here are a few static shots of Topaz, a tawny owl taken at the Raptor Foundation in Cambridgeshire.  A medium sized owl, the tawny is the most common raptor resident in the UK.

Great Grey Owl

Here are a few shots of Buzz, a great grey owl taken at the Raptor Foundation in Cambridgeshire.  The great grey is one of the largest owls in the world and its most prominent feature is its almost perfectly circular face.

Goldcrest

Along with the firecrest, the goldcrest is the UK’s smallest bird which is probably the reason I have never seen one – that was until this little fellow decided to appear.  The light was very poor at the time which is why the shots are not as sharp as I would have liked.
