Le Palais Garnier was built in the latter part of the 19th century for the Paris Opera.  The exterior of the Baroque style building is very impressive, although on my visit some parts were hidden due to scaffolding. Sadly, on this occasion, I was unable to view the spectacular interior as there was no admission owing to renovation work.  Oh well, better luck next time.
