Continuing my Isle of Skye posts, and this time a very enjoyable boat trip to Loch Coruisk. Although there are many boat operators, we decided to opt for ‘Misty Isle’ as they appeared to be a very friendly family-orientated bunch, and at only £17.50 per person it seemed good value. Boarding the boat at Elgol in somewhat dreich weather conditions, we were warmly greeted by Seumas the skipper and his son Stuart, who would be our tour guide whilst at sea. Along the way we were hoping to spot the often talked about whales, dolphins and sharks, however we had to make do with seals who nonetheless were entertaining. After a very knowledgeable commentary enjoyed by all, we arrived at Loch Coruisk and were welcomed by a break in the clouds and some sunshine; bliss indeed. We spent 90 minutes ashore (the weather was too changeable to risk any longer) exploring the incredibly picturesque scenery in complete awe. I thoroughly recommend it!
