There are numerous Kingfishers in Luangwa, I managed to photograph five of the eight species, not surprisingly the Giant kingfisher is the largest kingfisher in Africa and is approximately three times the size of the native UK kingfisher. The Giant kingfisher diet consists mainly of fish, frogs, toads, river crabs and occasionally small reptiles and insects. These shots were taken at a small swamp on Flatdogs Camp, Mfuwe, Zambia.
