Three lone spotted hyenas we encountered at different times during day 2. One of the hyenas had clearly just fed due to the drying patches of blood around its head. Hyenas have very powerful jaws and prey is fully ingested apart from hair, horns and hooves which are regurgitated in the form of pellets.
