Here are a few shots of the ever impressive Red Kite hovering over my garden. The picture of the Red Kite coming into land was taken from a distance at Aylesbury Park Golf Club – unfortunately I only had time for a quick shot as it was not allowed any respite before it was harangued by a considerable number of crows.

Not far from you… the kites play over my garden also, and I would give my eye teeth to gets shots like these!

Thanks Sue, its very frustrating when I’m out in my car and all of a sudden they appear very low. Unlike the photos here which are taken at a fair distance. Still I’m determined to obtain a real close up one of these days.

Tell me about it!The come down so close when you are driving …
I am determined to go out one of these days to a little place not far from West Wycombe where a lady feeds them… there are over twenty in the air over her house, swooping in low on a regular basis.
I’ve managed some good ones .. but they are either close up and a little fuzzy, or close with the head turned away or down….
One day though 🙂

Sounds interesting, does the lady allow you to take pictures?

I haven’t asked but they wheel over the street so you can just park up with the camera.
