A Sunday Stroll

As it turns out this was my final autumnal Sunday stroll, as winter has arrived with a vengeance – well that’s my opinion anyway – I much prefer the warmth of summer.  If what the forecasters are predicting (worst winter in decades) comes to fruition, then at least it may bring opportunities for some interesting wintry images.  Anyway, I digress, the images below were taken at Marsworth reservoir in Buckinghamshire on a reasonably sunny day, which brought out the vibrant colours of the mallards.  What appeared to be a young grey heron showed itself on the other side of the canal bank.  It happily posed for me, which I like to imagine was down to its fascination at the numerous gulls diving and fighting for the scraps of bread that were on offer.
