Sherborne Abbey, Dorset

Sherborne Abbey, known to many as the Cathedral of Dorset, was founded in AD 705.  It was formerly a Saxon cathedral and then became a Benedictine abbey.  The abbey dominates Sheborne town and although may not be as well known as other cathedrals such as Winchester, Salisbury etc., the history, stunning interior and helpful and knowledgeable staff make this abbey a delight to visit.
