Paris – Église Saint Germain-l’Auxerrois

This little gem of a Gothic church is situated opposite the Louvre and, conveniently for me, was directly adjacent to the hotel we were residing in.  The church which dates around the 12th century originally belonged to the Louvre when the latter was a royal palace.  A lot of restoration has been carried out throughout the centuries and the only surviving original feature is the impressive bell tower, captured below on a slightly murky day.  Certainly not to be ignored when visiting the Louvre.  Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois 9 Saint Germain-l'Auxerrois© [John Mallaney] and [jdmallaney In The Frame], [2012].
